The paintings of British artist Mark Briscoe have attracted the attention of many art lovers throughout the world.

His expressive and highly animated compositions in oil and also oil tempera (or Tempera Grassa—a centuries old painting medium used by the Dutch masters) capture the essence of the post impressionists while his line-work creates a unique and intriguing play on perspective, distance and form.

Frequently, his works are straight forward florals or landscapes while other pieces force incongruous subjects together in a manner that is both whimsical and exuberant.

Periods in India studying traditional Rajasthani art and years working in the field of decorative Chinese furniture have also had a major influence on his current work.

His paintings are regularly shipped internationally. Anyone interested in available works can purchase directly from this site, enquire using the Contact Page or through Galleries where his works are on display.
